George Chan
George Chan is the Clinical Head of the Haematology Laboratory and a Specialist Haematologist at Auckland City Hospital. He is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer of the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology, University of Auckland.
His clinical interest is in red cell disorders including enzymopathies and thalassemias. His laboratory interest is in flow cytometry, haemostasis, laboratory quality standards and effective use of resources for good patient care. He is closely involved in teaching and training of medical students, registrars and laboratory scientists. He is a member of several local and international committees on laboratory quality and standardisation, and a Technical Expert for the International Accreditation New Zealand in Medical Testing.
